Inspired by the Tom’s shoes business model, 13-year-old Michael Platt started “Michael’s Desserts” and gives away one cupcake to the homeless for every one he sells.

From a young age, he loved cupcakes and learned to bake while watching YouTube clips. He founded “Michael’s Desserts” when he was just 11 years old. He says that he knew he “just didn’t want to make money”, but that he wanted to “help people at the same time”.

He has partnered with No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit that provides meals and hosts educational programming for children.

His business continues to grow, even though some have told him that his business model won’t work.

But God.

We wish him the best success.
