Handwriting girl no hands Anaya Ellick thegrio.com

via thegrio.com:

A national handwriting contest was recently won by a little girl who was born without hands. Anaya Ellick from Chesapeake, Virginia, who doesn’t use any sort of prosthetics, holds the pencil between her two arms to write.

According to the principal of her school, Tracy Cox, she is an inspiration, “She does not let anything get in the way of doing what she has set out to do.”

Anaya has become so skilled in writing this way that she has some of the best handwriting in her entire class.

Ellick beat out 50 other applicants for the special needs category of the contest. This particular category was designed to encourage and reward the hard work of students with an intellectual, physical, or developmental disability.
