The trials for the six officers charged in connection with the death of Freddie Gray will be held in Baltimore, Circuit Judge Barry Williams ruled Thursday.
Defense attorneys have argued the officers would be unable to get an impartial trial in the city due to media coverage of the case. Lawyers for the officers also argued that the city’s $6.4 million settlement with Gray’s family, approved by the Board of Estimates Wednesday, sends a message to prospective jurors.
Both sides argued for 15 minutes before the court took at 30 minute break.
