Zaxby’s Plans To Expand Into Baltimore Area With Four New Locations

Zaxby’s, the popular Georgia-based fried chicken chain, is eyeing a move closer to Charm City with plans to open four new restaurants in the Baltimore region.
The expansion comes through a partnership with Lattakia Group LLC, a Baltimore-based franchise operator with seven years of experience in the area. According to Zaxby’s, new locations are expected to open in both Baltimore and Howard counties.
Although exact addresses haven’t been confirmed, potential sites under consideration include Nottingham, Rosedale, Glen Burnie, and Ellicott City.
“We’re excited to bring Zaxby’s to this region,” a Lattakia Group spokesperson said. “It’s about bringing people together and supporting local growth.”
Mike Mettler, Zaxby’s chief development officer, described the announcement as a major step for the brand: “This marks the beginning of Zaxby’s presence in the greater Baltimore area.”
Founded in 1990, Zaxby’s has built a loyal following with its chicken fingers, fresh salads, and signature sauces. The chain currently operates more than 970 locations across 17 states, including some in Northern Virginia. Additional Maryland sites are also in the works on the Eastern Shore.
Baltimore’s food scene has seen a steady influx of fast-casual chicken spots in recent years. Recent newcomers include Raising Cane’s, Dave’s Hot Chicken, and Rooted Rotisserie.
