A white female student used a poster with the words, “If I was Black, I’d be picking cotton…but I’m white so I’m picking you!” to ask a male student to the Sweetheart Ball next month at Thunder Ridge High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

A local Republican "community leader" based in Idaho was blasted recently for a racist since-deleted Tweet complaining about a commercial showing a Black family enjoying the holidays. The Daily Beast reported Lisa Leisy lost it on social media after seeing an old Hershey commercial depicting a Black family reveling in the holiday spirit. 

“I screamed,” the victim testified. “I was pretty upset. I felt really bad. A little bit betrayed and confused at the same time. It was terrible — a pain I’ve never felt, " the victim said in court.
