Woman Killed After Being Hit by School Bus in Baltimore County
Baltimore County Police are investigating a deadly crash that claimed the life of a woman who was struck by a school bus Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 1:55 p.m. near the intersection of Philadelphia and Ridge roads, a commercial area in Rossville that includes a Royal Farms and several small businesses. Authorities say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed that no children were on the bus at the time of the crash, and the driver was not injured. The vehicle involved was not affiliated with Baltimore County Public Schools.
The crash prompted temporary road closures in the area as investigators worked the scene.
According to the Maryland Highway Safety Office, Baltimore County has seen nearly 30 fatal crashes so far this year, with eight of those involving pedestrians.
