The Minneapolis native introduced his newest single, “Call Your Name,” which is already making waves in churches across the country. “So many churches are singing it,” Patton said. “I hope y’all can worship to it and be blessed by it.” With a history of six number-one Billboard hits, Patton seems to have a gift for creating music that resonates.
When asked about his creative process, Patton admitted there’s no strict formula. “You just kinda go with the flow,” he explained. “Even ‘Your Name’ came to me early one morning before a Christmas concert. I sent it to my music director and asked if we could try to add it in. We didn’t overthink it.” That spirit of spontaneity, guided by faith, has become part of Patton’s signature style.

His most recent album, Established, includes powerhouse collaborations with gospel greats like Bishop Hezekiah Walker and Kierra Sheard-Kelly. Patton sees these partnerships as more than just musical moments—they help solidify the message. “They give the music credibility,” he said. “It’s easier for people who may not normally listen to gospel to receive the message when they hear familiar voices.”
Beyond the music, Patton is also a full-time pastor and a national brand ambassador alongside his family for brands like Target and Delta. Balancing it all—music, ministry, family, and business—has been a faith-led journey. “My wife and I are not PKs (preacher’s kids), so none of this was expected,” he shared. “We’re just going with God’s flow.”

His church continues to grow, and Patton is shifting his focus even more toward shepherding his congregation. “Right now, it’s about church building and pouring into the people. That’s my priority,” he said. Though fans can expect more music in the future, Patton is currently pouring his energy into ministry.
In a touching moment, Patton gave a shoutout to Erica Campbell’s church dance team for ministering to his song “Fight My Battles,” calling their performance “real good.” Campbell, in return, promised to pass along the love.
Before wrapping up, Patton encouraged listeners to stay connected with him on social media: “Just @JovontaPatton on everything.” As for what’s next? More ministry, more music—and more of God’s flow.
