Trucker Charged in I-83 Shooting That Endangered Toddler
Truck Driver Accused in I-83 Shooting May Be Tied To Multiple Pennsylvania Incidents

An Illinois truck driver arrested in connection with a shooting that endangered a toddler on a Baltimore County highway may also be responsible for three additional shootings in Pennsylvania, according to Maryland State Police.
The investigation began late Wednesday night when a driver called 911 to report that their Toyota Prius was shot at while traveling on Interstate 83 in northern Baltimore County. Three people were inside the vehicle at the time, including a 2-year-old child. No injuries were reported, but police discovered a bullet hole in the passenger-side window and a bullet lodged in the front seat.
Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Christian Ramos, who was reportedly operating a tractor-trailer for Tag Trans Inc. at the time of the incident. During the investigation, authorities linked Ramos to three other shootings along I-83 in Pennsylvania that occurred around the same time.
Dashcam footage helped investigators identify Ramos, who was apprehended Thursday at a truck stop in Elkton, about 60 miles from the scene. Troopers found a loaded .45-caliber handgun, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and several spent shell casings inside his truck.
Ramos appeared before a judge in Baltimore County on Friday and was ordered held without bond on 15 charges, including three counts of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of reckless endangerment from a vehicle. He has since been transferred to Cecil County, where he faces an additional firearm charge. His next court date in Baltimore County is set for July 24.
Maryland State Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage or information from I-83 in Maryland or Pennsylvania on Wednesday night to contact investigators at 410-538-1887.
