It appears that authorities may have a lead on those responsible for bomb threats at many HBCUs across the nation this week after the FBI recently identified six suspects in the racially-motivated case.

From being the only choice for higher education to now seeing students choose HBCUs, it’s an honor to be a part of the HBCU legacy.

The FBI has offered a noncommittal response to the ongoing series of HBCU bomb threats while Black leaders are sounding the alarm and demanding a full investigation from federal law enforcement officials.

Multiple bomb threats targeting at least six HBCUs forced a few prominent institutions to alert their campus communities weeks after other historically Black colleges and universities were similarly targeted earlier this month.

The attention and spotlight on HBCU sports are at one of their highest points in recent history. A huge reason for that is the influx of former professional athletes taking head coaching jobs at these institutions and providing their guidance and expertise to the next generation.

The HBCU community was on high alert after several historically Black colleges and universities received bomb threats on Tuesday.

It's time to hold Howard and other HBCUs accountable to serving their students to the best of their ability while also loving these institutions for what they symbolize and the excellence that they foster.
