Yesterday morning, Cpl. Che’ Atkinson, of the Prince George’s County Police Department, was celebrated on FOX & Friends after paying for a homeless woman and her baby to stay in a hotel room and providing them with food and drinks. Having discovered the mother and child hadn’t eaten in days and left their home due to a domestic dispute, the officer offered to put the two in a hotel room. The woman allegedly waited for a family member to get them from the police station, but they never showed.
“The mother and young child came to the department’s District I station, in Hyattsville, with several bags and nowhere to go,” according to Huff Post Good News.
This act of kindness was “a simple choice,” says the officer, who just wanted to make sure the two were safe.
