Kierra Sheard sang her wig straight off in the middle of praise at the Atlanta leg of Tasha Cobb’s “One Place Live” tour last week and her reaction was actually very refreshing. Here’s three things we took from her wardrobe malfunction:

1. Never Quit

I can’t even begin to count how many times the Bible says to take courage. Mad props to Kierra for singing through her mishap. What more could she do at that point, anyway, except to give the people what they came to see?

That’s how we should be in our every day routine. We are backed by a super powerful God in who all things are possible. No matter the setbacks, it’s our responsibility to have faith he’ll meet us at the other end of whatever it is we’re being led to.

2. Live in the Moment

Kierra didn’t look shocked at all. Instead of stopping, she caught her wig and didn’t miss a beat of that praise! She made light of the situation with a joke and put it right back on during a break in the song. And that was only after she swung the wig around a bit as she pranced around the stage to finish her note.

What can we take from that? Here it is: Not everything is going to go our way, but we have to learn how to embrace it. You have to make the best of things before they get the best of you.

3. Face Your Challenges

Kierra clearly wasn’t phased by losing her hair piece. She later hopped on Instagram and reposted videos that showed all of the above mentioned.

All that to say… next time the unexpected is thrown your way, take courage! Pick it up, embrace it and keep on moving.
