Oscar nominated filmmaker Ava Duvernay is scheduled to give the commencement address at her alma mater, the UCLA Film School. Duvernay, who double majored in English and African-American studies, will return to the campus on Friday, June 16 at UCLA’s Royce Hall to deliver the commencement speech for the School of Theater, Film, and Television’s 70th Commencement ceremony.
She directed Golden Globe and Oscar-nominated movie, “Selma.”
