Raleigh-based Saint Augustine’s University is the first HBCU to launch a women’s rowing team.

The NCAA tournament is arguably the biggest event in all of college athletics that brings a sizable payday for many participating conferences. But HBCUs have found themselves on the lower end of the financial spectrum.

Jackson State Head Football Coach Deion Sanders has become a legitimate candidate for the head coaching position at TCU.  According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Sanders interviewed for the job Monday. A Jackson State official declined to comment on the matter to the newspaper.
