Biden has the Congressional Black Caucus to thank for the final push. Black lawmakers negotiated with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to sign off on the bill to pour trillions of dollars into damaged roads, bridges, tunnels, and transit. Initially, Democrats were steadfast in their decision to pass the infrastructure bill and the president social welfare and climate change proposal estimated at $1.85 trillion. Still, the idea was shot down by House officials. Black Caucus members pushed for Pelosi to pass the bill immediately and then hold a vote for the larger climate bill hopefully come mid-November, The New York Times noted.

The predominantly Black city declared a safety emergency over its lead levels previously. Levels present in the city are said to be higher than those present in Flint at the height of its crisis. In an interview with “Detroit Today,” Nick Leonard said it is unclear what caused the levels in Benton Harbor to spike beginning in 2018.  

A Raleigh detective recently proved that not all cops are here to protect us after he was fired for conspiring to plant fake heroin on Black men with help from an informant and knowledge from other officers.

A cursory review of the hospital system shows it plays a valuable role in the community, but this doesn’t negate Hill’s experience. People and companies can have good values and intentions, but the impact of decisions and reluctance to push beyond discomfort demands DEI work be prioritized.

Despite the threats that some 10,000 NYPD officers would quit over New York City's vaccine mandate for municipal workers, the actual number of officers placed on unpaid leave after refusing the shot stands at only 34 cops.

Earlier this summer, former state Sen. Wendy Davis and others from the Biden campaign filed a lawsuit against San Marcos officials for their failure to respond. Davis was running for congress, and the group was scheduled to make three campaign stops later canceled due to the incident. 

Claiming that efforts to uphold the constitutionally protected rights of state residents are opposed to the university's interests is a weird flex. The subtext seems that the university's interests and values need to align with Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Republican majority in the statehouse.  

He wanted to see the FBI approach the Day case with the same attention and effort as the case of Gabby Petito. According to Rush, the attention and effort in the Petito case were appropriate, but other missing people deserve the same measures.
