Two young Baltimore drummers, Malik Perry and Timothy Fletcher, who go by the name “A1 Chops” just made an appearance on Ellen and they have the whole world talking.

After years of entertaining crowds on Charm City streets, a chance meeting on Instagram led them to an opportunity of lifetime.

It was a certain Instagram like that Fletcher got on a viral “Level-Up Challenge” video that changed everything.

“They loved it, and Ellen wanted us on the show and everything,” Fletcher said. “I’m looking at my phone like this, and my eyes just started getting real watery, and I’m just like, ‘Nah, this can’t be real.’ I didn’t believe it.”

“For us to be on ‘The Ellen (DeGeneres) Show,’ and us drumming and going viral and stuff is, like, really shining a light on Baltimore,” Perry said. “It means the world to me just to do this and to travel, and I’m just so grateful and everything.”

“It’s no, like, a lot of light shone on Baltimore, like you said. There’s a lot of violence, things like that, and a lot of people don’t see the good side of Baltimore,” Fletcher said.
